Veneers and Lumineers for Smile Makeower

Veneers and Lumineers are great options for smile makeovers. Veneers align teeth, straighten crooked teeth, provide ideal gum and tooth balance, lengthen, or widen teeth, correct stubborn discoloration that some tooth whitening may be unable to correct, fill chipped teeth and give uniform, even sizing and presentation of all teeth.  Veneers are a facial covering for teeth. The tooth is prepared by shaving down the enamel and bonding the veneer to the tooth.  Lumineers are also a facial covering for teeth but the enamel does not need to be shaved down for placement and Lumineers are equivalent to the thickness of a contact lense. Veneers are individually sculpted to ensure that your smile is unique to you and to give uniformity to your teeth as a whole.

At Elite Dentistry Center we offer a free consultation for patients interested in veneers and lumineers. Dr. Butriy works directly with the patient to ensure a perfect smile makeover.

Although Lumineers and Veneers improve your smile by hiding dental flaws, they are different in procedure and how they affect the state of the original tooth. Be sure to consult with a dental professional here at Elite Dentistry before you decide which option is most suited for you drastic procedure.

o    Both can improve the appearance when there are crooked, and/or misaligned teeth.

o    Both can produce a whiter, brighter smile for you.

o    Both can hide a tooth if it is cracked or chipped.

o    Both can cover gaps between the teeth.

o    Both are comfortable and they both have a natural appearance.

o    Both are made and  formed from a thin layer of porcelain.

o    Both are strong, durable, and easy.

o    Both will not stain or change color.

o    Both are custom-made to create a seamless unique smile.

o    Both come with a similar price range.

o    Veneers require some removal and reshaping of the original tooth. To create a natural appearance that is not so bulky or overly large, the dentist here at Elite Dentistry Center will remove about 5mm from the tooth’s surface. Then, Enamel is removed, leaving the tooth not protected until the veneer is safely applied. So, if the veneer is in need to be removed in the near future, the tooth will be unprotected another time. Although, as a long-term solution, this  removal that’s permanent of enamel may be an important concern to some patients. Also, Veneers can be placed in about two visits.

o    Lumineers are not as invasive and they provide the same function as porcelain veneers. The original tooth, however, is left unchanged and the enamel is not damaged. To achieve this, Lumineers are much thinner than veneers, but they’re still strong and durable. Elite Dentistry wants you to have a flawless, natural smile with Lumineers. Finally, Lumineers are a quicker application than veneers because the teeth are not shaved down before the procedure.
